Free Backlink Spam Score Checker
See how suspicious a domain's backlink profile looks, and find out which referring domains are pushing the score up.
What you get
- 01
Two spam scores
One for the backlinks pointing at the domain, one for the domain itself. They answer different questions and often disagree.
- 02
The most suspicious sources
The 10 referring domains with the highest spam scores, with linking pages, anchor text, and Nofollow status.
- 03
Score in context
Read the spam score alongside referring domains and domain authority. A high score is a reason to review links, not proof of a penalty.
Frequently asked questions
What does the spam score actually measure?
DataForSEO rates a backlink profile 0-100 using signals in its index associated with low-quality sites: thin or duplicated content, link networks, unusual outbound link patterns, and so on. A higher score means more of those signals. It is not a Google penalty score — Google doesn't publish anything like it.
Should I disavow these links?
Usually not. Google ignores most low-quality links on its own, and wrongly disavowing good links does real harm. Treat a high score as a reason to take a look, not as a to-do list.
How many links does the free check show?
The 10 referring domains with the highest spam scores (one link each). In Glot Rank you can filter the full backlink profile by spam score and see how big a share of it is affected.
Where does the data come from?
DataForSEO's backlink index, cached per domain for 24 hours. The same data Glot Rank's backlink research uses.
